Whisky and Rye barrel-ageing charge against the ramparts of seven malts and five hops, yielding a cavalcade of bittersweet mocha, dark chocolate, toasted oak and rich, smoky spice. Those heads can roll later. It’s quittin’ time.
The pour’s smoky spice hits first, then the bittersweet mocha settles in like a slow burn—a proper sipping dram with real depth. I’ve had few bottles that balance the rye heat so cleanly with that dark chocolate note.
That toasted oak really carries through on the finish, and the smoky spice lingers just long enough without overpowering. The dark chocolate notes come out more as it opens up, and the seven malts give it a nice layered depth.
The bittersweet mocha and dark chocolate come through exactly as described once it opens up, though the toasted oak lingers nicely on the finish. I've poured this on a few slow evenings and it's got that rich, smoky warmth that feels like a proper winter treat.
